People’s Party leader Ndindi Nyoro has unveiled the first group of officials who will help establish the party’s leadership structure ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nyoro, who is also the Kiharu MP, announced the appointments on Tuesday, September 22, saying the party was moving ahead with plans to build its organisational structure.
The first group includes seven officials representing different counties.
Riziki Makokha from Busia has been named Deputy Party Leader, while Samora K’alosi from Homa Bay will serve as County Chairperson.
Mwanamisi Swaleh from Kwale has been appointed Vice Chairperson, while Benny Hinn Walubengo from Nairobi has been designated Secretary General.
John Kihiu from Kiambu will serve as Deputy Secretary General in charge of Administration Affairs. Mahad Abdi from Mandera has been named Treasurer, while Dr Jane Sibia from Kisii will serve as Organising Secretary.
Nyoro specifically highlighted Walubengo, noting that the newly designated Secretary General is 24 years old. He described the young official as intelligent and articulate.
The People’s Party leader also said the party would work with other opposition parties as it develops what he described as policy alternatives for the country.
The officials reportedly met earlier on Tuesday to discuss issues affecting Kenya as they begin putting the party’s organisational structures in place.
Nyoro joined the People’s Party of Kenya in August after leaving the United Democratic Alliance (UDA). He subsequently announced that he and his supporters had joined the opposition.
The latest appointments come as political parties continue preparing for the 2027 General Election, with opposition groups exploring possible alliances and political arrangements.
