Cabinet Secretaries Aden Duale, Julius Ogamba, and Davis Chirchir have named 13 new members to various state boards and university councils, aiming to strengthen governance and oversight in key public institutions.
Health Cabinet Secretary Aden Duale announced the appointment of five new members to the Kenya Board of Mental Health, including Linett Ongeri, Simon Githui, Harun Hassan, and Dennis Wamalwa, for three-year terms. Beatrice Maingi was also reappointed to the board for another three years.
Duale further appointed Maurice K’Odhiambo, Tadudi Aly Omar, and Serah Mutu Kisilu to the Pharmacy and Poisons Board, alongside reappointments of Isha Anand and Bernard Kimutai Maiyo, all set to serve three-year terms. These members will support the board in regulating medicines, pharmaceutical services, inspections, licensing, and ensuring compliance with national health standards.
On the transport sector, CS Davis Chirchir appointed Anne Njeri Gitau to the Aeronautical Search and Rescue Committee for a one-year term, under the Civil Aviation Regulations.
In education, CS Julius Ogamba appointed Charles Momanyi and Irene Chebet Chesire to the Council of Alupe University, each for a three-year term. As council members, they will provide strategic direction, oversee policy implementation, approve statutes, and ensure the university complies with national regulations.
These appointments reflect a continued effort by the government to strengthen leadership, governance, and accountability across key sectors, from health and education to transport and aviation.
