The Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has been thrown into mourning once again following the unexpected death of Georgina Margaret Oketch, a well-known party organiser celebrated for her commitment to grassroots mobilisation.

Her passing comes only days after the loss of another senior party leader, deepening heartbreak and unease within the movement.

Family sources revealed that Georgina collapsed at her home early in the morning. Despite quick intervention from relatives and neighbours, she was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

The news spread rapidly, sparking widespread shock as supporters struggled to come to terms with two major losses in such a short period.

Georgina was admired for her calm approach to leadership, her passion for fairness, and her ability to mentor and inspire young people in the party.

Colleagues described her as a dedicated and principled organiser who handled politics with humility and a genuine desire to unite people. Many within ODM believed she was destined for a bright political future.

Tributes from across the country have continued to pour in, with mourners highlighting her kindness, compassion, and unwavering loyalty to the party.

Close friends recalled her as someone who preferred dialogue over conflict and consistently worked to strengthen relationships within the movement.

Medical experts are expected to release an official report on the cause of death once the family grants approval. For now, relatives have requested privacy as they come to terms with the sudden loss.

ODM officials say the two recent deaths have created a painful gap in the party’s leadership and spirit. Preparations for Georgina’s burial will begin soon, with the party expected to take an active role.

Supporters say she will be remembered for her humility, dedication, and the positive energy she carried wherever she went.
