The Inspector General (IG) of the National Police Service, Douglas Kanja, yesterday toured recruitment centres in Narok, Machakos, and Nairobi counties to oversee the ongoing police recruitment exercise.

The visit aimed to ensure that the process was conducted transparently, professionally, and in accordance with the Service’s standards.

The tour began at William Ole Ntimama Stadium in Narok, where the IG addressed candidates and supervising officers.

He encouraged applicants to stay focused and assured them that the recruitment process is strictly merit-based, free from any form of corruption.

Kanja also warned that any officer found engaging in malpractice would face strict disciplinary measures.

Later, the IG proceeded to Machakos Stadium, where he met with officers managing the recruitment and interacted with candidates.

He emphasised the importance of professionalism, integrity, and equal opportunity for all qualified Kenyans, urging officers to uphold these values throughout the exercise.

The final stop was Police Sacco Stadium in South C, Nairobi, where Kanja motivated recruits to remain disciplined and committed.

He highlighted patriotism and integrity as core principles of the National Police Service, reminding candidates that the recruitment process provides an equal chance for all eligible applicants.

In a statement, the National Police Service confirmed that the recruitment exercise is being conducted transparently, free from bribery or any other corrupt practices.

The IG reiterated that strict action will be taken against anyone found violating these standards.
