Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi hosted President William Ruto, First Lady Rachel Ruto, and senior government leaders in Nairobi over the weekend during the wedding of his son, Moses Budamba Mudavadi, and Qillian Ndeso Saiya.

The ceremony, held at Ulinzi Grounds, drew a notable mix of political figures and family friends, marking one of the most high-profile social events involving top state officials this month.

The gathering highlighted long-standing political alliances within Kenya’s senior leadership, particularly the cooperation between Ruto and Mudavadi that played a central role in the formation of the Kenya Kwanza administration in 2022.

Their joint appearance at a family event underscored the continued cordial relationship between the two leaders, even as coalition parties navigate shifting national and regional political priorities.

In a message shared on X, Mudavadi said his family was grateful for the support extended by guests who attended the ceremony.

He acknowledged the President, the First Lady, Cabinet colleagues, relatives, and close associates, noting that their participation added meaning to the day’s celebrations.

The statement also reflected Mudavadi’s appreciation for his wife, Tessie, and family members who helped organise the event.

Kenyan political events involving top office holders often attract attention because they offer insight into alliances, stability within ruling coalitions, and the public standing of senior leaders.

The weekend ceremony was no exception, as it brought together influential figures from different arms of government at a time when the administration is preparing for key economic and governance initiatives heading into the new year.

Mudavadi described the moment as significant for his family, emphasising the joy of seeing a child begin an independent life.

His statement expressed hope that the couple would build a strong foundation guided by faith, noting that he was praying for wisdom and resilience in their new journey.

He extended blessings to the newlyweds while urging them to rely on their beliefs for guidance.
