Speaking at his Wamunyoro residence, Gachagua alleged that the two officers, who are reportedly attached to Kikuyu Police Station, were behind the murder of Dr. Mutiso and that the DCI had failed to take action against them.
He further claimed that the same officers were also linked to the unresolved killing of lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.
According to Gachagua, he received information from police officers who were dissatisfied with how the matter was being handled. He said the intelligence convinced him that the suspects were known but had not been arrested.
The former deputy president also alleged that the same officers were involved in attacks targeting him and other opposition leaders during political events, although he did not provide evidence to support the claims.
Gachagua criticized the leadership of the DCI, accusing Mohamed Amin of covering up the alleged involvement of the officers instead of ensuring they faced justice.
He urged investigators to conduct transparent investigations into the deaths of Dr. Mutiso and lawyer Kyalo Mbobu.
His remarks come as detectives continue investigating Dr. Mutiso's murder, a case that has attracted widespread public attention.
The DCI has previously dismissed Gachagua's claims that he has privileged access to information from security agencies, maintaining that investigations are being conducted professionally and in accordance with the law.
