On Friday, November 10, a shocking incident occurred in Ohio when a 37-year-old babysitter, Amanda L. Greger, allegedly beat her friend’s one-year-old child while the child’s mother, Melissa Bilby, was away at work. The horrifying case has left the local community in disbelief.
According to the report, Melissa had left her daughter in the care of her close friend, Amanda, while she went to work the night before. When she returned home the next morning, she was shocked to find blood flowing in her bedsitter room.
“I couldn’t believe what I saw. My baby was covered in blood, and I felt helpless,” she said.
When she opened the room, she found her one-year-old lying on the bed. Upon closer inspection, she realized the baby was badly injured with blood coming from her right eye, signs of a brain bleed, bruised lungs, and fluid around her heart and spine.
Tragically, the child was no longer responsive and had to be rushed to the pediatric intensive care unit, where she was placed on a ventilator.
“I tried to wake her, but she didn’t respond. It was the most painful moment of my life,” the mother said.
According to police reports, Amanda Greger was arrested after attempting to hide evidence by washing the child’s blood-stained clothing. She was charged with two counts of endangering a child and one count of tampering with evidence.
