The late Cyrus Jirongo was remembered on Saturday not only as a politician but as a guiding figure within his family, as relatives paid tribute during a memorial service at CITAM Church, Valley Road.

Speaking on behalf of her siblings, Grace Jirongo highlighted the personal legacy her brother left behind, emphasizing his role as a mentor, provider, and role model.

“To others, you were a politician, a friend, and a giver of resources, but to us, you are our blood, a brother, and a father figure,” Grace told attendees.

She noted that while the circumstances of his passing remain unclear to the family, they trust in God’s wisdom and continue to cherish the lessons he imparted.

The service underscored the contrast between Jirongo’s public and private personas.

Widely known for his involvement in national politics and community support, his family remembered him for the personal guidance and care he provided.

“You have been a role model to our children and to us. You have done so much for us that we cannot mention enough,” Grace said, adding that his influence would continue to guide the family in future endeavors.

Grace described Jirongo as a pillar of strength whose courage and resilience supported the family through both difficult and ordinary moments.

“Your strength and courage carried us through all times. To others, you are a politician, a friend, a giver, but to us, you are our blood brother and an extraordinary father figure. We love and cherish you,” she said.

The memorial drew family, friends, and colleagues who had interacted with Jirongo through his political work, highlighting the wide-ranging impact of his life.

His siblings’ tribute offered a more intimate perspective, portraying him as a figure whose personal values and familial dedication were central to his identity.

In remembering Jirongo, the family pledged to carry forward his legacy, keeping him in their hearts and actions.

The memorial reinforced the view that beyond public office and political contributions, the late politician’s enduring influence would live on through the lives of those closest to him.
