Prime Cabinet Secretary Musalia Mudavadi has paid a condolence visit to the family of former Lugari Member of Parliament Cyrus Jirongo, days after the veteran politician’s death.
The visit took place at the family’s home in Gigiri, Nairobi, shortly after Mudavadi returned from an official trip abroad.
In a statement shared on X, Mudavadi said the visit was intended to personally stand with the family during the mourning period.
He noted that discussions with the family also touched on ongoing arrangements for Jirongo’s burial in Lugari Constituency, Kakamega County.
Mudavadi urged the family to remain united and grounded in faith as preparations for the final rites continue.
He did not disclose details on the burial date, stating only that plans were progressing under the guidance of the family.
The Prime CS used the occasion to reflect on Jirongo’s role in Kenya’s political history.
He described the former MP as a determined public figure whose influence extended beyond elective politics, citing his long-standing presence in national affairs.
In his message, Mudavadi said Jirongo “touched many lives” and played a visible role in shaping Kenya’s political landscape.
He added that the late politician was known for his energy and distinctive personality, which marked his approach to public life and personal ambition.

His message was directed specifically to the family members, whom he addressed by name.
