Drama at a Funeral as Top UDA Politician Narrowly Escapes Death After Being Attacked by Angry Mourners Over “Tutam” Remarks

Drama was witnessed on Monday afternoon in Machakos County after a funeral ceremony turned chaotic. An area MCA allied to the UDA party and a known supporter of President William Ruto narrowly escaped death after being attacked by angry mourners.

According to eyewitnesses, trouble started when the politician made political remarks during the funeral. He allegedly urged residents to support and re-elect President William Ruto in the 2027 general elections using the popular “Tutam” slogan. Many mourners felt that the funeral was not the right place for politics, and this angered the crowd.

In a video that has since gone viral on social media platforms, especially TikTok, mourners can be seen confronting the MCA. The crowd surrounded him, shouted insults, and accused him of disrespecting the deceased and the grieving family.
The situation quickly turned violent as some people grabbed him by the collar and pushed him around. Panic spread across the funeral grounds, forcing some mourners to run for safety.

Police officers who were present at the ceremony acted fast after realizing that the politician’s life was in serious danger.

In the video, officers are seen struggling to shield him from the mob as they rushed him toward his vehicle. Despite the police efforts, the crowd continued shouting and attempting to reach him.

After a tense struggle, the officers managed to get the MCA into his car and drove him away from the scene at high speed. During the chaos, a bishop who was presiding over the funeral was heard pleading with the mourners to calm down and allow the burial ceremony to continue peacefully.
