Drama at State House as Two ODM MPs Exchange Blows Infront of Ruto Over Protocol

Suba North MP Caroli Omondi and Suna East MP Junet Mohamed reportedly engaged in a physical confrontation at State House, Nairobi.

According to The Standard, the confrontation arose when Junet allegedly arrived at the presidential offices and found Omondi in discussion with the Head of Public Service, Felix Koskei.

Sources indicate that Junet questioned Omondi about the reason for his presence, claiming that any Luo leader seeking entry to State House must first obtain his approval. Omondi, however, insisted that he was engaged in official discussions with Koskei and promised to address Junet’s concerns afterward.

The disagreement reportedly escalated, with Omondi alleging that Junet became increasingly agitated. The Suba North MP said the tension reached a physical level when he allegedly held Junet by the collar and slapped him, a move that was reportedly restrained by a senior female official within the ODM party.

While neither MP has officially confirmed the full details of the incident, the event has sparked debate within political circles about protocol and authority among party leaders.

Observers note that such clashes between party officials could undermine cohesion, particularly ahead of critical legislative sessions.

Party insiders suggest the altercation highlights underlying friction over leadership and influence within the Luo community. It also raises questions about access to State House and whether certain leaders have informal control over visits and meetings.

Political analysts warn that unresolved disputes of this nature could spill into broader party politics, potentially affecting both parliamentary collaboration and public perception.

Both MPs are expected to provide statements to clarify the situation and prevent further escalation.

As the story develops, attention will focus on how ODM addresses internal conflicts and enforces discipline among its elected representatives.

For now, the incident underscores the delicate balance of power and influence within Kenya’s political landscape.
