Karen Nyamu Calls for Tough Action Against TikTokers Who Harassed Women in Nairobi

Controversial Kenyan lawyer and politician Karen Nyamu has reacted strongly to the recent arrest of over 20 young men in Nairobi who were accused of harassing women publicly.

According to reports, the men were taken into custody by police stationed in the Pangani area after disturbing videos of their behavior circulated widely online. The videos showed them filming themselves harassing women along General Waruingi Street in Kariokor, prompting public outrage.

Nyamu, who is a nominated senator, suggested that the men should not be released on bail, arguing that this would serve as a punishment for their actions and prevent them from repeating such misconduct in the future.

"Their actions were shocking and unacceptable. They should face the consequences fully and not be allowed to walk free," Nyamu stated.

The senator’s comments come amid growing concerns over online harassment and public misconduct in Nairobi, especially cases amplified by social media platforms like TikTok.

Many Kenyans have expressed support for Nyamu’s tough stance, emphasizing the need for accountability and protection of women in public spaces.

The arrested men are currently in police custody as authorities investigate the incident further.
