"Is He Sick?" Questions Arise Over Alleged Dubai Trip by President Ruto on Luxury Private Jet

Speculation is mounting online and in political circles after flight tracking data suggested that President William Ruto may have quietly travelled to Dubai aboard a luxury private jet reportedly worth Sh2 billion, even as his official programme indicated he remained in Kenya.

According to screenshots and records circulating on social media, a Bombardier Global 7500 — one of the world’s most expensive private jets — allegedly departed Nairobi and landed in Dubai during a period when the President was expected to attend local engagements.

The jet is favoured by high-net-worth individuals and political leaders for its long-range capabilities and luxurious interiors.

The claims have not been independently verified, and State House has not issued any official clarification. Nonetheless, the reports have sparked debate over presidential travel transparency, especially amid government calls for austerity measures and higher taxes to stabilise the economy.

The alleged trip comes at a time when Kenyans are grappling with rising fuel prices, high living costs, and protests demanding accountability.

Opposition figures and civil society groups have seized on the reports to question whether public resources are being used prudently, arguing that any such trip requires a clear explanation.

Supporters of President Ruto caution against drawing conclusions based solely on flight data, noting that such aircraft are often chartered and may not carry the Head of State.

As the discussion continues to trend, pressure is mounting on State House to clarify the matter and reassure Kenyans on government transparency and responsible use of public resources.
