Shock as Murder Witness Is Abducted, Tortured to Death, and Dumped in Bush Before Testifying in Court

Investigation into a murder case has taken a fresh twist after a witness was abducted and killed in Amayo village, Bondo Sub-County, Siaya County.

Hezron Nyamburi was reportedly kidnapped from his home and later found dead in a swamp at Ndati village. His murder is closely linked to another murder case in which he was a key witness.

The earlier case involved the killing of Dennis Ambrose Achieng, a 75-year-old man who was murdered on November 14, 2025, along the Orengo–Gul Min Ougo Road.

Nyamburi had recorded a statement with the police and was expected to testify in court. Three suspects connected to the murder of Achieng were arrested and presented in court through a miscellaneous application. They were later released on a cash bail and were expected to take plea on January 19, 2026.

On the afternoon of January 16, unknown assailants stormed Nyamburi’s home and forced him onto a motorcycle before speeding away.

Hours later, his body was discovered by locals, who promptly alerted police officers. The body was taken to the mortuary for post-mortem examination as investigations continued.

Detectives suspect the killing was intended to silence Nyamburi before he could testify in court. Authorities confirmed they are following crucial leads to identify and arrest those involved.

Residents of Amayo and surrounding villages have expressed fear and anger over the killing, calling for quick justice.

They urged authorities to improve security and protect witnesses in ongoing court cases. Police have assured the public that efforts are underway to bring the offenders to book.

Don't go, here's is another story making headlines today.
