Millie Odhiambo Warns ODM: UDA’s Sharp Strategy Could Leave Opposition Playing Catch-Up

Suba North MP and House Minority Whip Millie Odhiambo has issued a striking assessment of the ruling United Democratic Alliance suggesting that the Orange Democratic Movement and other opposition parties may need to rethink their strategies ahead of future elections.

In remarks shared on February 4, 2026, Odhiambo revealed she has closely monitored UDA over the past three months. She praised the party for its disciplined approach, stating that UDA effectively plans, organizes, and executes its agenda.

According to her, the party also skillfully creates public perception and sets the stage for desired outcomes.

Odhiambo contrasted this with the opposition's position, noting that other parties appear to be either playing catch-up or relegated to the sidelines, cheering or reacting rather than leading.

Her comments, delivered in an afternoon message that gained traction online, imply a sense of urgency for ODM to adapt or risk falling further behind in political maneuvering.

The statement comes at a time of internal reflection within ODM, amid ongoing debates about the party's direction, potential coalitions, and preparations for 2027.

Recent tensions, including discussions on alliances and leadership roles, have highlighted divisions, with some voices pushing for renewal while others defend core principles.

Odhiambo's observation underscores UDA's perceived organizational edge under President William Ruto's influence, positioning it as proactive in shaping narratives and executing plans.

For ODM, which has historically been a strong opposition force, her words serve as a wake-up call, potentially sending the party back to the drawing board to strengthen its own planning and execution capabilities.

As political temperatures rise toward the next election cycle, such candid assessments from key figures like Odhiambo could influence internal reforms and strategic shifts within opposition ranks.
