Alliance High School has celebrated its centenary with renewed national recognition and a major government funding commitment aimed at strengthening infrastructure and preserving its legacy of excellence.
Founded in 1926, the prestigious institution has produced generations of leaders who have shaped Kenya’s public service, business sector, academia, and international organisations.
For a century, the school has maintained a strong tradition of discipline, academic achievement, and leadership development.
During the centenary celebrations, the government pledged KSh550 million to upgrade facilities and support the school’s continued growth as a centre of excellence.
Out of this allocation, KSh60 million will fund the construction of 40 modern classrooms to ease congestion and create a more conducive learning environment.
Another KSh60 million has been set aside for the establishment of a sports academy, highlighting the growing importance of nurturing talent beyond academics and promoting holistic education.
Infrastructure improvements will also extend beyond the school gates. A total of KSh200 million will be used to upgrade the road network surrounding the institution.
Leaders noted that better roads will enhance accessibility, improve safety, and benefit both the school community and neighbouring residents.
Parallel investments were also announced for Alliance Girls High School. The government has committed KSh155 million for the construction of a new dormitory that will accommodate 640 students, addressing rising enrolment.
An additional KSh40 million will fund 24 new classrooms to expand learning capacity.
Education stakeholders praised Alliance High School’s contribution to national development, noting that its alumni continue to occupy senior roles across government and the private sector.
They emphasized the need to preserve institutions with rich traditions while modernising facilities to meet present-day educational demands.
As the school marks 100 years under its motto, “Strong to Serve,” the celebrations signalled not just a historical milestone, but a renewed commitment to shaping future generations committed to excellence and service.
