Junet Mohamed Condemns Attack on Senator Godfrey Osotsi, Demands Arrest of Perpetrators

Junet Mohamed has strongly condemned the assault on Vihiga Senator Godfrey Osotsi, which took place at Java House in Western Mall, Kisumu, in what is believed to be a politically motivated attack.

In a statement released on Wednesday, Junet described the incident as “dastardly” and called on security agencies to move swiftly and arrest all those involved in planning and executing the assault.

He insisted that both the masterminds and the attackers must be identified, arrested, and prosecuted without delay.

According to him, political violence has no place in Kenya and should not be tolerated regardless of political affiliation or ideology.

He emphasized that all leaders must be allowed to participate in democratic processes freely and without fear of intimidation or harm.

Junet also sent well wishes to Senator Osotsi, praying for his quick recovery and urging that he be supported to resume his duties safely.

The condemnation follows widespread outrage from leaders, civil society groups, and members of the public, who have all criticized the attack and called for justice.

Earlier reports from Osotsi’s Director of Communication, Derick Luvega, indicated that the senator was attacked while meeting a friend and interacting with members of the public at the restaurant.

Luvega alleged that armed individuals confronted and manhandled the senator in full view of other patrons, sparking further concern over rising political tensions and security of leaders in public spaces.
