SHOCK as Kenya Railways Declares Amboseli Gardens Land Public Amid Eviction Row

Kenya Railways has clarified that the land at the center of the Amboseli Gardens dispute remains public property, intensifying the ongoing eviction debate.

The state-owned agency insisted that the land in question, which has been occupied by residents for years, legally belongs to the government. Kenya Railways said any construction or occupation on the property without proper authorization is illegal and may be subject to eviction.

The clarification comes amid growing tension between residents and authorities, with the latter warning that they may enforce removal orders to reclaim the land. Some occupants have claimed ownership or long-term use rights, creating a complex legal dispute.

Officials stressed that public interest and preservation of government property are priorities, and the eviction process will follow legal procedures to avoid unnecessary conflict.

The row has sparked debate among legal experts, human rights advocates, and residents, who are calling for a fair and transparent resolution that balances the government’s property rights with the livelihoods of those affected.

Overall, Kenya Railways’ firm stance signals that the government is prepared to reclaim public land, while the eviction row highlights ongoing challenges in managing urban land disputes.
