A very sad video has emerged on social media showing a Kenyan lady crying helplessly as she is allegedly attacked by her employer’s wife and two sons in Saudi Arabia.
The disturbing video, which has been shared widely on TikTok, shows the woman crying and pleading for help as she is repeatedly hit on the back with what appears to be a rungu wrapped with sharp barbed wire. CLICK TO WATCH THE VIDEO HERE
The woman can be heard crying, “Nakufa woooi,” as she struggles to protect herself from the attack.
At some point, she falls to the ground while the alleged attackers continue with the assault. Her two young sons are also seen holding the woman by her left leg and dragging her towards a room as she appears to be unable to defend herself.
The video has left many Kenyans heartbroken, with several people expressing anger and concern over the treatment of some Kenyans working in Middle Eastern countries.
Many Kenyans have called on the government to investigate the disturbing incident and take action if the allegations are confirmed.
The incident has also renewed calls for better protection of Kenyan domestic workers abroad, especially those who may find themselves in difficult working conditions and unable to seek immediate help.
Kenyans online are now calling for the woman to be identified and assisted, while urging relevant authorities to establish what happened and ensure that those responsible face the law if found culpable.
