Mumias East MP Peter Salasya has called on Siaya Governor James Orengo to join the United Opposition and help bring the Luo vote together ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Salasya said opposition leaders need to put aside personal ambitions and political differences if they want to create a strong coalition capable of challenging the Kenya Kwanza administration.
In a statement shared on social media, Salasya described Orengo as an influential figure in Kenyan politics and urged him to make a major political decision by joining the opposition camp.
He argued that bringing together key opposition leaders would create a broader political movement and give Kenyans a stronger alternative ahead of the next election.
Salasya also appealed to politicians to focus on issues affecting Kenyans rather than individual political interests. He said leaders should work together for the wider good of the country.
The MP further suggested that leaders who play a role in building a united opposition should be given meaningful responsibilities if the coalition succeeds in forming the next government.
His remarks come as political leaders continue efforts to build a united opposition ahead of the 2027 elections, with questions over how different parties and influential regional leaders will work together.
Salasya's appeal places fresh attention on Orengo's political position as the opposition weighs possible alliances and strategies for the next election.
