Hacker’s Paradise

The Daily Nation reports that a coordinated cyber-attack on Monday crippled several government websites, with State House among the platforms briefly taken offline.

The attackers are said to have blocked access to pages, altered visuals, and interfered with content in what the paper describes as another major breach of the country’s digital systems.

According to the publication, the incident comes despite repeated warnings from the Office of the Auditor-General, which has consistently flagged vulnerabilities in government ICT infrastructure.

The Nation notes that many of these audit reports remain unimplemented, raising concerns over the State’s preparedness.

The report warns that the latest attack exposes ongoing laxity in safeguarding public data and increases the risk faced by millions of Kenyans whose information is stored on government platforms.
