Kileleshwa ward MCA Robert Alai has publicly praised President William Ruto following the safe return of Kenyan activists Bob Njagi and Nicholas Oyoo from Uganda.

Alai took to X to commend the president, highlighting what he described as Ruto’s unique commitment to protecting Kenyans abroad.

“President Ruto even fights to save those who hate him and export their bad manners to neighbouring countries. Only Ruto has such a heart,” Alai wrote.

The activists were released late last night and handed over to Kenya’s High Commissioner in Uganda, H.E. Maangi Joash.

They were escorted to Busia border town by Ugandan officials and received by Busia County Commissioner Chaunga Mwachaunga, marking the end of a tense cross-border ordeal. Foreign Affairs PS Korir Sing’oei confirmed their arrival on Kenyan soil.

Alai also drew a sharp comparison with former President Uhuru Kenyatta, suggesting a different approach to citizen protection.

“Uhuru would send his own elite killer squad to help Ugandans kill you for him. Today he shouts how young people should take power,” he added, framing the release as both a humanitarian and political achievement.

The activists’ abduction had sparked concern from human rights groups in Kenya.
