Wiper Party leader Kalonzo Musyoka convened a forum with 300 representatives of the Meru community on  Thursday, focusing on inclusive governance and equitable representation.

The meeting, hosted in Nairobi, aimed to discuss national priorities and the role of communities in shaping Kenya’s political and social landscape.

Joining Kalonzo were National Assembly Speaker Justin Muturi and Agriculture Cabinet Secretary Mithika Linturi, whose participation highlighted cross-regional collaboration within Kenya’s political leadership.

The gathering was organised by Wiper Party officials under Executive Director Benson Milai, signalling the party’s commitment to broad-based engagement with local communities.

During the session, Kalonzo emphasised the importance of dialogue between political leaders and grassroots representatives.

“Together, we continue to build a country founded on dignity, justice, and opportunity for all,” he stated on X, reflecting the party’s focus on unity and inclusivity.

The meeting also offered a platform for delegates to voice concerns and aspirations affecting the Meru region, though specific policy proposals were not disclosed.

The forum comes against a backdrop of Kenya’s evolving political alliances ahead of future elections.

The presence of Muturi and Linturi, both influential figures in Mt Kenya East politics, underscored the strategic nature of this outreach.

Historically, Meru leaders have been active participants in national political discussions, often emphasising equitable development and access to government resources.

Kalonzo’s dialogue follows a series of Wiper initiatives to engage multiple communities across Kenya, reinforcing the party’s emphasis on participatory decision-making and responsive governance.
