Safina Party’s deputy president-designate, Willis Otieno, has unveiled a policy framework aimed at strengthening Kenya’s social and economic sectors, emphasizing practical programmes over political victories.

The announcement, made on X on Friday, highlights the party’s commitment to promoting citizen welfare as the core of its political agenda.

Safina Party, historically a reform-oriented political organization, has often positioned itself as an advocate for policy-driven governance.

In his statement, Otieno criticized the tendency of political leaders to prioritize electoral success over measurable development outcomes, noting that Kenya faces challenges not from a lack of promises, but from inadequate planning.

Otieno presented what he termed the “FIST Agenda,” a set of five key policy pillars designed to enhance citizen economic empowerment.

These include ending Kenya’s debt trap, reducing punitive taxes, guaranteeing free education and healthcare, and improving access to affordable credit for business and trade.

“The people of Kenya deserve leadership anchored in a real, coherent programme, one that guarantees prosperity, dignity, and freedom from repression and economic colonialism,” Otieno said in the statement.

He emphasized that the agenda represents governance with clear intent rather than populist rhetoric.

The FIST Agenda reflects broader debates in Kenya about leadership accountability, fiscal responsibility, and access to essential services.

By focusing on concrete programmes, the party seeks to address public concerns over rising living costs, limited educational opportunities, and barriers to financial inclusion.

Otieno stressed that leadership is a responsibility to citizens rather than a platform for personal or partisan gain.

He framed the party’s priorities around practical interventions that directly affect Kenyan livelihoods, noting that economic liberation requires state structures that serve rather than exploit the populace.

Safina Party has indicated that it will roll out further details on how the FIST Agenda will be implemented across communities, aiming to ensure measurable improvements in education, healthcare, and economic participation.

The statement signals Safina’s strategy to differentiate itself through policy-oriented campaigns ahead of upcoming elections.

By prioritizing citizen welfare and institutional planning, the party intends to create a platform focused on sustainable economic growth and inclusive governance.
