Nyamira Senator Mong’are Okongo Omogeni has strongly rejected assertions by INJECT Party leader Morara Kebaso that former president Uhuru Kenyatta is working with President William Ruto through Cabinet appointments.
In a statement shared on X, Omogeni criticised what he described as speculative politics, emphasising that political influence should be measured through structured party frameworks rather than personal conjecture.
“When you mix politics without logic, Plato would call you a prisoner of the cave mistaking shadows for reality,” Omogeni said, highlighting the importance of understanding political purpose over theatrics.
Kebaso had earlier claimed that Ruto’s 2024 Cabinet reshuffle, which included former allies of Uhuru such as Mutahi Kagwe and William Kabogo, demonstrated a collaboration between the two leaders.
He questioned the narrative that Jubilee Party is not cooperating with the Kenya Kwanza government.
Omogeni countered this perspective, warning that misleading statements risk confusing voters.
He cited concerns over party registration claims, young politicians’ ambitions, and opaque fundraising as examples of practices that undermine accountability.
“Lying to citizens about party registration, fantasising about a 2027 presidency at age 29, and opaque fundraising are pure hubris. Without truth and accountability, you are not leadership, you are noise,” the senator said.
The response underscores ongoing tensions among emerging political figures and established leaders in Kenya’s evolving political landscape.
Omogeni argued that Cabinet appointments reflect formal governance arrangements and constitutional responsibilities rather than informal allegiances.
