On Thursday, drama unfolded in Nairobi after a video surfaced on social media platforms, especially on X, showing a daughter of the late Senior Counsel Nzamba Kitonga involved in a heated confrontation with a group of boda boda riders.
According to the riders, one of them had ferried her to a destination, but she allegedly failed to pay the agreed fare of Sh150.
In the viral video, tensions can be seen rising as one boda boda rider is captured holding her bag and insisting that she must pay the Sh150 before she is allowed to leave.
Other riders are heard shouting from behind, accusing her of refusing to pay and mocking her by suggesting she could not afford the money.
As the argument continues, some riders are seen pointing fingers at her, warning her against undermining people’s hustles. They told her that boda boda riding is their daily source of income and demanded respect for their work.
The situation quickly escalated as the exchange of words became more intense.
At one point, the woman is seen responding angrily to the rider who allegedly carried her. She expressed shock, saying she could not believe that a man would aggressively demand Sh150 from a woman.
She went further to insult the rider, referring to him as a poor person, remarks that appeared to anger the riders even more.
Despite the insults, the rider remained firm and continued demanding his Sh150, telling her that the amount was not small money to him. He insisted that the fare was earned honestly and that she must pay before leaving the scene.
The incident has sparked mixed reactions online, with Kenyans debating issues of entitlement, respect, and the dignity of work.
