KANU Chairman Gideon Moi has urged Kenyans to enter 2026 with renewed commitment to national unity and collective progress.
In a New Year message, Moi reflected on the challenges the country faced in 2025, noting that Kenyans showed resilience despite economic pressures, social difficulties, and the loss of prominent leaders.
“The year 2025 has tested Kenya in profound ways. Our unity, resilience, and commitment to progress have been stretched. We have mourned the loss of friends, compatriots, and respected statesmen. Yet through it all, the Kenyan spirit has endured,” Moi said in his statement, emphasizing the importance of remaining steadfast and hopeful.
Moi called on citizens to see the new year as an opportunity for both personal and national renewal.
He encouraged individuals to overcome personal challenges while collectively reinforcing social cohesion and shared values, which he described as central to Kenya’s long-term stability and development.
The KANU leader’s message also carried a personal note from the Moi family, extending warm greetings to all Kenyans.
“On behalf of the Moi family and KANU, I wish you and your loved ones a happy New Year and a prosperous 2026,” he stated.
KANU has historically positioned itself as a party that emphasizes national unity and civic responsibility.
Moi’s message aligns with the party’s longstanding focus on cohesion, particularly during periods of political or economic uncertainty.
In recent years, Kenya has experienced heightened political activity, including preparations for the 2027 general elections, making calls for solidarity timely and relevant.
By framing 2026 as a year for renewal, Moi underlined the importance of collective effort in addressing national challenges.
His statement arrives amid ongoing discussions on social stability, economic recovery, and governance reforms, reinforcing the role of civic engagement in sustaining Kenya’s development trajectory.
