Githunguri MP Wamuchomba Condemns Banner Vandalism: “It Won’t Feed Families or Lower Prices”

Githunguri Member of Parliament Wamuchomba has strongly criticized the growing trend of tearing down political banners, warning that such actions benefit self-serving politicians while doing nothing to improve the lives of ordinary Kenyans.

Speaking in a public statement, Wamuchomba argued that destroying campaign materials does not feed hungry families, fix the economy, or address critical national issues, but instead fuels political division.

He noted that some politicians thrive on chaos, using symbolic fights as an excuse to pit communities against each other.

“Tearing down banners won’t put food on the table or lower the cost of living,” Wamuchomba said. “It only gives politicians more excuses to divide us. Hiyo ni mchezo wao and Kenyans should stop playing it.”

The legislator urged citizens to focus on accountability and real issues, including unemployment, the rising cost of living, and strategies for economic recovery.

He warned that public energy is being wasted on distractions while the country grapples with serious challenges.

Wamuchomba’s remarks come amid heightened political tensions in parts of the country, where rival groups have reportedly vandalized campaign materials, raising concerns about intolerance and increasing divisions ahead of upcoming elections.

His message adds to a growing chorus of voices calling for issue-based politics and national unity, encouraging Kenyans to rise above divisive tactics and demand tangible results from their leaders.
