A photo of a Junior Secondary School (JSS) teacher allegedly murdered in Bomet County has surfaced, triggering widespread grief and outrage among residents, teachers, and members of the public.
The teacher has been identified as Miss Caroline Ngetich, a young educator whose life was tragically cut short under distressing circumstances.
Miss Ngetich served at Cheptagum Junior School in Chepalungu Sub-county, where she was admired for her calm nature, dedication, and strong commitment to her pupils. Fellow teachers and parents describe her as hardworking, approachable, and deeply passionate about shaping young minds.
Shock swept through the education community after news broke that Miss Ngetich was found dead inside the bathroom of her rented house at Longisa trading centre last week.
Her body was discovered after she failed to report to school and could not be reached by phone. Concerned neighbours alerted authorities, who later visited her residence and made the grim discovery.
A postmortem examination revealed injuries on her body, including blood clots on the neck and head, raising suspicion that she may have been assaulted before her death. Investigators are now treating the case as suspected murder.
Police have confirmed that a suspect has been arrested and is currently being held at Longisa Police Station. Reports indicate that the suspect is a police officer who was allegedly in a romantic relationship with the deceased, though authorities have not yet released full details.
Residents of Longisa and surrounding areas have reacted with deep sorrow and anger, with many taking to social media to share Miss Ngetich’s photo and mourn the loss of a promising young teacher.
As grief continues to spread, calls for justice have intensified, with Kenyans demanding a thorough, transparent, and speedy investigation to ensure accountability for her death.
