One of the top politicians allied to the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) has issued a tough warning to Embakasi East Member of Parliament Babu Owino and Nairobi Senator Edwin Sifuna ahead of the planned ODM rally in Kamukunji on Sunday.
The politician stated that since the two leaders are not supporting President William Ruto’s re-election bid, they should not dare to step into Kamukunji during the rally. He claimed their presence would not be welcomed and could cause tension among supporters.
In a statement, the politician explained that political activities in Nairobi are well organized and closely monitored. He revealed that Makadara MP George Aladwa is in charge of coordinating ODM activities and rallies within the city.
According to him, Aladwa has already given clear instructions that neither Sifuna nor Babu Owino should attend the upcoming Kamukunji rally. He added that the decision was aimed at maintaining order and discipline during the event.
The politician further warned the two leaders against ignoring the directive. He said that if they decide to attend the rally despite the warning, they will be treated like strangers. He claimed they would be chased away and embarrassed in front of the crowd.
“They should not test George Aladwa’s temper. This is not a joke, and Kamukunji is not a playground,” he warned strongly.
According to the politician, President William Ruto does not want to see any critics attending or disrupting ODM rallies. He insisted that for their own safety and well-being, Sifuna and Owino should keep off the Kamukunji rally.
The statement has since sparked heated debate online, with many Kenyans questioning political tolerance and freedom within party activities.
