Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi Claims His Life Is in Danger, Seeks Extra Security

Kiambu Governor Kimani Wamatangi has publicly raised serious concerns about his personal safety, claiming that his life is under immediate threat.

Speaking to the press during a candid briefing, the governor revealed that he has been trailed by unidentified individuals, a situation he says has forced him to formally request additional security from the government.

Wamatangi explained that his request is not a casual one, but is based on what he described as a calculated pattern of intimidation.

According to the governor, the suspicious surveillance of his movements has intensified to a level where he no longer feels safe carrying out his daily official duties without stronger protection.

This alarming revelation comes at a difficult time for the Kiambu county boss, whose personal and political life has recently come under intense scrutiny.

Among the major developments affecting him is the demolition of property. The governor recently watched as his multi-million-shilling property in Nairobi was demolished during a government-led operation.

In addition, Wamatangi disclosed that his bank accounts, along with those of his family members, were frozen as part of ongoing investigations into alleged corruption within his administration.

The governor appears to suggest that the demolition, financial pressure, legal battles, and now the alleged physical threats are not mere coincidences.

Despite the challenges, Wamatangi maintained that he remains committed to serving the people of Kiambu. However, he warned that the pressure from what he termed “shadowy forces” has crossed the line from political rivalry to personal danger.

He has urged national security agencies to take his claims seriously, stressing that the stability of Kiambu County leadership depends on the safety of its elected officials.

As authorities consider his request, the situation highlights the high stakes and volatile nature of Kenyan regional politics.
