Kapsaret Member of Parliament Oscar Sudi has strongly dismissed claims by former Kakamega Senator Cleophas Malala alleging that Suna East MP Junet Mohamed secretly collaborated with President William Ruto during the 2022 General Election.
In a video shared on his Facebook page on Tuesday, January 20, Sudi termed Malala’s remarks as misleading and dishonest. He insisted that Junet could not have worked secretly with Ruto at the time, noting that the ODM lawmaker was openly opposed to Ruto’s presidential bid.
Sudi, a close ally of President Ruto, maintained that Junet was deeply loyal to Azimio La Umoja flagbearer Raila Odinga and enjoyed immense trust within the opposition coalition.
According to the outspoken MP, it was impossible for Junet to have held secret night meetings with Ruto, as alleged by Malala. He revealed that despite being on opposite political sides, he and Junet were friends, but stressed that Junet “hated” Ruto during the campaign period.
“Stop spreading lies. If there is anyone you would never believe could work with William Ruto, it is Junet. I stand with Junet,” Sudi said.
Sudi was reacting to claims made by Malala during an interview on Tuesday, January 20, where the former senator alleged that Junet used to secretly visit then-Deputy President William Ruto at night to share information about ODM agents across the country.
The remarks have since sparked debate online, with Kenyans sharply divided over the conflicting political narratives.
