KUCCPS to Open Online Placement Portal in Phases for University and College Applicants

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) has announced that its online application portal will soon open, providing a clear pathway for thousands of KCSE graduates seeking placement in universities and technical institutions.

KUCCPS Chief Executive Officer Agnes Mercy Wahome revealed that the portal will be launched in phases to ensure a smooth and efficient application process.

The first phase will prioritize applicants aiming to join Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) institutions as well as Kenya Medical Training College (KMTC) programmes.

Wahome explained that this approach aligns with the earlier intake schedules of TVET institutions and KMTC compared to universities.

Applications for degree and diploma courses in universities and colleges will be opened later in the year, primarily targeting students planning to join institutions in September.

The phased system is designed to reduce system congestion, minimise technical disruptions, and allow applicants sufficient time to make informed decisions.

Wahome urged recent KCSE candidates to start preparing early by reviewing their results, researching available courses, and seeking guidance on career options.

She cautioned that last-minute rushes or lack of information can lead to poor choices or missed placement opportunities.

To support applicants, KUCCPS will provide assistance through its headquarters, Huduma Centres, and online platforms, ensuring learners facing difficulties can access help at designated support centres across the country.

Parents and guardians are also encouraged to guide students in selecting courses that match their skills, interests, and long-term career goals.

With the clear timelines in place, KUCCPS advises students to take advantage of the phased opening, submit applications on time, and avoid unnecessary delays that could affect their placement chances.
