Nairobi Set for Heavy Rainfall and Possible Thunderstorms: Residents Urged to Take Precautions

The Nairobi Metropolis is bracing for significant rainfall starting from the morning of Wednesday, February 25, through to the same time on Thursday, February 26.

Weather forecasts indicate that several parts of the city will experience moderate to heavy rain, with some areas expecting intense downpours exceeding 50mm within 24 hours. Afternoon, evening, and early morning hours may bring isolated thunderstorms.

Residents are advised to prepare for potential localized flooding, especially in low-lying and poorly drained neighborhoods.

Heavy rainfall may disrupt daily activities, causing transportation delays and challenges for pedestrians. It is recommended to avoid flood-prone areas and take necessary safety precautions during this period.
