KUCCPS 2025/2026 Application Portal Set to Open: Key Guidelines for Students

The Kenya Universities and Colleges Central Placement Service (KUCCPS) is preparing to open its 2025/2026 application portal, offering opportunities for KCSE 2025 candidates and previous Form Four leavers to apply for degree, diploma, craft, and artisan programmes across Kenya.

Eligibility and Programme Requirements
University degree programmes: KCSE 2024 grade C+ and above. 

Previous diploma students who now meet university entry requirements can upgrade.

Diploma programmes: KCSE grade C– qualifies.
Craft certificates: KCSE grade D qualifies.
Artisan certificates: KCSE grade E qualifies.
Teacher education:
Diploma in Primary Teacher Education – grade C
Diploma in Secondary Teacher Education – grade C+

Strategic Application Tips

Students are encouraged to apply strategically when selecting their six course choices:
First three slots (1a, 1b, 1c): Same course at different universities to increase chances of admission.

Example: Bachelor of Public Health – 1(a) Kenyatta University, 1(b) Rongo University, 1(c) Jaramogi Oginga Odinga University.

Remaining three slots: Alternative programmes to consider if first three choices are unavailable.

Examples: BSc. Nutrition and Dietetics, BSc. Community Health, BSc. Biology.
Students who qualify for multiple levels may apply across categories to maximize placement opportunities.

Application Process

Log in at students.kuccps.net�.
Download programme lists and cluster subject requirements.

Compare cluster weights with previous year’s cut-off points.

Search and enter qualifying course codes in order of preference.

Submit applications and pay KSh 1,500 processing fee via eCitizen.

Dos and Don’ts
Do:

Research course requirements early.
Apply strategically.

Double-check programme codes.

Use official KUCCPS channels only.

Don’t:
List the same course in all six slots.
Ignore cut-off points.
Apply to only one university.
