Linda Mwananchi Group Demands “People’s Report” on 10-Point Agenda

Nairobi, Kenya – A faction of the Orange Democratic Movement (ODM) operating under the name Linda Mwananchi has launched a “People’s Report” evaluating the 10-point agenda signed by President William Ruto and the late Raila Odinga.

The initiative aims to hold leaders accountable for the promises outlined in the agreement, citing public concerns that the broad-based government has neglected key commitments.

Key Points from the Launch

Raila’s signature matters: Suba South MP Caroli Omondi noted that the report bears Raila’s personal signature and warned against political exploitation of the agreement.

“This document has Raila’s signature. We are here to ensure that political frauds are not committed in the name of Baba,” Omondi said.

People’s verdict required: The group stresses that citizens should judge whether the agenda has delivered on its promises, particularly regarding economic relief and justice.

“Whether it is the NADCO or the 10-point agenda, there must be a people’s report. The people must give a verdict,” Omondi added.

Official updates dismissed: Omondi rejected the government’s recent UDA and ODM update on the 10-point agenda, calling it fraudulent and claiming it ignored critical issues such as the high cost of living.

“Does your shilling buy you more today or less than it did 3 years ago? We don’t want to be told inflation has dropped from here to here,” he said.

Justice and accountability concerns: Omondi questioned the Ksh 2 billion compensation for victims of anti-government protests, highlighting gaps in transparency and accountability for rogue police officers.

IEBC restructuring doubts: The lawmaker also cast doubt on the credibility of the reconstituted Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, warning that public trust remains weak.

Call to Action

The Linda Mwananchi faction insists that any evaluation of the 10-point agenda must reflect the people’s lived reality, not government spin. Omondi described the official report as a conspiracy and demanded a genuine, citizen-driven assessment.

“There must be a people’s report, not what you saw yesterday, a conspiracy of some sort,” Omondi stated.
