Former Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua has accused President William Ruto of allegedly orchestrating a plan to weaken the growing political alliance between him and Kalonzo Musyoka.
Speaking on Sunday during a church service at Kirathani Grounds, Gachagua claimed that there are deliberate attempts to create divisions within their emerging political partnership.
According to the DCP Party leader, the alleged strategy involves publicly praising Kalonzo while at the same time portraying him as tribal in order to drive a wedge between the two leaders.
“We know the scheme. They will praise Kalonzo and at the same time tell him we are tribal to create distance. We are not going to allow that,” Gachagua said.
He further warned that the alleged political maneuvering could be witnessed during the President’s upcoming development tour in the Ukambani region.
Gachagua urged those he claims are interfering with their political cooperation to keep away from their affairs, maintaining that his partnership with Kalonzo remains strong.
He also expressed confidence that the Mt Kenya Region and Ukambani regions could eventually unite politically ahead of future elections.
The church event was attended by Kalonzo Musyoka and Justin Muturi, alongside several Members of Parliament from both regions, a move seen by observers as a sign of strengthening political ties among leaders who were previously associated with the Kenya Kwanza Alliance.
The remarks come amid shifting political alliances in the country as leaders begin positioning themselves ahead of the 2027 Kenyan General Election.
