Shabana FC to Receive New Team Bus During President Ruto’s Gusii Visit

Excitement is building among football fans in the Gusii region after South Mugirango MP Sylvanus Osoro revealed that Shabana Football Club will receive a modern team bus during President William Ruto’s upcoming development tour.

According to Osoro, the tour will cover western Kenya over nearly two weeks, beginning in the Mulembe nation, moving to Luo Nyanza, and concluding in the Gusii region, which includes Kisii and Nyamira counties.

The President is scheduled to spend three days there, from March 29 to March 31, 2026, during which the bus handover will take place.

The new bus is part of an earlier promise made by the President to support the club. Construction of the vehicle began last year with government assistance in procurement.

Supporters have eagerly awaited the bus, which is expected to enhance team travel and morale for both players and fans.

Beyond sports, the tour will highlight key development projects in the region, including:

Launch of upgraded road networks to improve transport, trade, and access for farmers and traders.
Upgrades at Gusii Stadium and nearby fields to nurture youth talent.
Expansion of electricity programs to provide last-mile power to more homes and businesses.

Affordable housing initiatives aimed at helping families acquire decent homes and creating jobs for local workers.

Osoro urged residents to prepare for the visit and anticipated benefits, while thousands of Shabana supporters are expected to witness the historic bus handover, marking a proud moment for the club.
