Shock as Alfred Keter Declares Ruto a One-Term President During Johana Ng’eno’s Burial

The burial ceremony of the late Emurua Dikirr MP Johana Ng’eno turned political after former Nandi Hills MP Alfred Keter made strong remarks about President William Ruto during an address to mourners.

Keter, who has been a critic of the current administration, told the crowd that President Ruto could serve only one term. His remarks sparked reactions from different groups of mourners who had gathered to pay their last respects to the late legislator.

During his speech, Keter also called on the government to provide a clear and transparent report on the helicopter crash that claimed the life of Ng’eno and several others in Chepkiyeb, Nandi County. The accident shocked many Kenyans and raised questions about what exactly caused the tragedy.

Following the remarks, sections of the crowd began chanting political slogans, forcing security officers at the venue to step in and calm the situation. Witnesses said the atmosphere briefly became tense as supporters from different political sides exchanged words.

Despite the political tension, the funeral continued with several leaders and residents attending the ceremony to honor the late MP. Leaders described Ng’eno as a courageous and outspoken legislator who served his constituents with dedication.

The burial has drawn attention from political observers, especially as the country slowly moves toward the 2027 general election, with different leaders already positioning themselves politically.

Even with the political exchanges witnessed at the ceremony, mourners continued to focus on remembering the life and leadership of the late MP, whose sudden death left a deep gap in Emurua Dikirr constituency.
