SHOCK as Amos Kimunya Cleared in KSh60M Land Case After Years in Court

Former Lands Cabinet Secretary Amos Kimunya has been acquitted in a KSh60 million land case, bringing an end to a long-running legal battle that has spanned several years.

The case revolved around allegations that Kimunya and his co-accused were involved in the irregular allocation of a 25-acre piece of public land in Nyandarua to a private company. The land was originally meant for a government agricultural training centre.

Kimunya had been facing multiple charges, including abuse of office, failure to disclose a conflict of interest, and fraudulent disposal of public property. Prosecutors claimed the land was transferred without proper approvals and due process.

However, the court ruled in his favour, finding that the prosecution had failed to provide sufficient evidence to prove the case against him. This led to his acquittal alongside the other accused persons.

During the trial, Kimunya consistently denied any wrongdoing, maintaining that he acted within the law and did not personally benefit from the transaction.

The ruling marks a significant legal victory for the former minister, who previously held key government positions, including Finance and Trade.

Overall, the decision closes one of the high-profile land cases in Kenya, while once again raising debate over accountability and the handling of corruption-related cases in the country.
