Siaya Governor James Orengo has welcomed Kiharu MP Ndindi Nyoro into the Linda Mwananchi political camp following his decision to leave the United Democratic Alliance (UDA).
Orengo made the remarks on Monday, August 17, 2026, during a media briefing where Nyoro announced that he had formally left UDA and joined the People’s Party of Kenya (PPK).
The Siaya governor said Nyoro’s move creates an opportunity for the two politicians to work together as they seek to build the Linda Mwananchi movement.
Orengo noted that although the two leaders had worked together before, Nyoro’s latest political decision opens a new chapter in their cooperation.
He expressed optimism that they would work closely as political leaders and contribute to the movement's plans ahead of the 2027 General Election.
Nyoro's departure from UDA follows months of political distancing from the Kenya Kwanza administration. He has now positioned himself within the opposition and joined PPK alongside his supporters.
The move is expected to add momentum to the growing opposition activities as political parties and leaders continue building alliances ahead of the 2027 polls.
Orengo's invitation to Nyoro signals an effort to bring more political figures into the Linda Mwananchi camp as opposition leaders seek to consolidate their support across the country.
With political realignments accelerating, Nyoro's decision could become an important development in the formation of new alliances ahead of the next General Election.
