Kitutu Masaba MP Clive Gisairo has confirmed that he survived a road accident after his vehicle was hit from behind by a speeding double-cabin pickup.
The accident happened on Monday night, September 28, 2026, as Gisairo and his team were travelling to Nairobi from his constituency.
According to the legislator, the pickup, identified as an Isuzu D-Max, crashed into his vehicle from behind. The impact caused the pickup to lose control and roll onto the road shoulder.
Gisairo said his driver managed to bring their vehicle to a safe stop despite the collision causing the loss of the car's rear right tyre.
The MP also said that the occupants of the other vehicle were assisted at the scene before they were taken away in another vehicle. He said traffic police officers had arrived at the scene at the time.
Gisairo stated that he had reported the circumstances surrounding the incident to the relevant authorities and that investigations were underway. He also said authorities had identified the people who were in the double-cabin vehicle as well as officers allegedly involved in taking them from the scene.
The legislator reassured his supporters that he and the people travelling with him were safe. He said they experienced muscle pulls from the impact but did not suffer serious injuries.
He thanked Kenyans and his supporters for the messages and concern they expressed after learning about the accident.
The circumstances surrounding the crash, including what happened after the collision, remain subject to investigations by the relevant authorities. Gisairo said he expects the matter to be fully addressed and any wrongdoing established through the investigations to be handled according to the law.
