MP Millie Mabona has issued a formal statement mourning the death of Hon. Mohamed Tubi Bidu, the first‑term Member of Parliament for Isiolo South Constituency.

Mabona’s message addresses Tubi’s family, friends, relatives and constituency, acknowledging his public service.

Hon. Tubi died on Wednesday evening while receiving treatment at Nairobi Hospital, National Assembly Speaker Moses Wetang’ula confirmed in Parliament.

Mabona’s statement reads: “My condolences to the family, relatives, friends and constituents of Hon. Mohammed Tupi on his demise.

He was serving his first term as an MP and had also served previously as a Speaker of Isiolo County. May perpetual light shine upon him.”

Before his election in August 2022 on a Jubilee Party ticket, Tubi served as the inaugural Speaker of the Isiolo County Assembly from 2013 to 2017.

In his term at the National Assembly, Tubi sat on the Departmental Committee on Environment, Forestry & Mining, and the Public Petitions Committee.

Tubi’s background included roles in wildlife management and conservation.

He held a Diploma in Wildlife Management from the College of African Wildlife Management in Moshi, Tanzania, and a Bachelor of Arts in Community Development from Gretsa University.

His career progression included service in senior government conservation roles across Isiolo and other counties.

The announcement from Speaker Wetang’ula described Tubi’s death as a profound loss to Parliament and the country.

Details of the burial arrangements are still pending.

Mabona’s expression of sympathy adds to a growing list of tributes from politicians across Kenya marking the passing of the Isiolo South MP.

The constituency now anticipates by‑election arrangements as stipulated under Kenyan law following the vacancy of the seat.
