Senator Prince Ned Nwoko has strongly rejected allegations that he married actress Regina Daniels when she was 17 years old.
In a statement posted on social media, Nwoko said the claim is entirely untrue and misleading, adding that he asked Daniels for her age during their first meeting, which she stated as 21 years.
According to his statement, Daniels presented a voter identification card from Nigeria’s Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) that showed her birthdate as October 10, 1998, and he says he retained the document.
He asserts their marriage occurred six years ago, making Daniels 27 years old today by his calculations.
Background checks show Daniels and Nwoko’s marriage was publicly announced in 2019.
The duo’s relationship has recently attracted media attention amid conflicting claims and appearances on social media.
Further complicating the dispute, the statement accuses Daniels of having started—but not completed—a rehabilitation process for alleged illegal drug addiction, and he urges the public to treat her claims “with caution and discernment.”
