Activist Bob Njagi has claimed that Ugandan soldiers were deployed to Kenya during the Gen Z protests, operating in disguise as Kenyan police.

Njagi made the revelation during a Wednesday night interview on Citizen TV, where he discussed his recent detention in Uganda.

He said the soldiers were transported from Uganda in military uniform but carried out duties in Kenya under the guise of local law enforcement.

Njagi described the arrangement as a form of cross-border collaboration between the two countries.

“You are seeing what is happening in Kenya resonating in Uganda and Tanzania,” he told the broadcaster. He said that some soldiers openly admitted to participating in the protests on Kenyan soil.

The Gen Z protests, largely driven by youth discontent over governance, economic challenges, and social restrictions, have been a prominent feature of Kenyan politics this year.

Njagi’s claims, if verified, raise questions about the involvement of foreign forces in domestic demonstrations and the broader implications for regional security.

Njagi and fellow activists were detained in Uganda for several weeks before their eventual release.

During detention, he says he obtained information about the movement and operations of the soldiers.

His account highlights the intersection of youth activism and regional security dynamics in East Africa.
