The Football Kenya Federation (FKF) has welcomed the national recognition of two of its key officials, Coach Beldine Odemba and Mwanalima Adam, popularly known as Dogo, following their recent awards on Jamhuri Day.

In a statement posted on X (formerly Twitter), FKF President Hussein Mohammed congratulated the awardees, describing their honours as a “powerful affirmation” of their dedication and contribution to Kenyan football.

Odemba was conferred with the Moran of the Order of the Burning Spear (MBS), while Dogo received the Head of State’s Commendation (HSC).

“These awards recognise the excellence and impact you continue to make with the Starlets and Kenyan football at large. You have made the nation proud,” Hussein stated.

The FKF President also expressed gratitude to the Government of Kenya, led by President William Ruto, for acknowledging the significant role of football in the country’s social and sporting landscape.

“I sincerely thank the government for recognising football’s importance and for its continued support towards the growth and development of the game in Kenya,” he added.

The awards come amid growing efforts by FKF to strengthen youth development programmes, enhance women’s football, and improve coaching standards nationwide.

Both Odemba and Dogo have been instrumental in mentoring young talent within the national women’s team, the Starlets, and have contributed to strategic football development initiatives.

President Ruto’s annual Jamhuri Day honours, traditionally given to individuals who have shown exceptional service in their fields, marked a significant moment for the recognition of sports leaders in Kenya.

The recognition highlights football as not only a popular sport but also a vehicle for national development and community engagement.

FKF has reiterated its commitment to building a stronger football ecosystem, leveraging state support and private partnerships to expand grassroots programs, elevate competitive standards, and promote Kenyan talent on continental and global stages.

The awards to Odemba and Dogo underscore the growing acknowledgment of sports professionals who dedicate their careers to nurturing young athletes and enhancing the national profile of Kenyan football.
