Kisii Governor Simba Arati has commenced a county-wide tour to review past development projects and outline plans for the upcoming financial year.
The initiative, which started on Saturday, will involve meetings with constituency and ward leaders to assess project delivery and gather resident input.
During a statement shared on X, Arati highlighted completed projects across key sectors, including road improvement, expanded healthcare access, agricultural support, and youth empowerment programs.
He emphasized that the consultations aim to ensure that county initiatives respond effectively to local needs.
“This tour will allow us to engage directly with sector leaders and residents, ensuring that every project meets its intended impact,” Governor Arati stated. “We look forward to building a more productive and prosperous Kisii together.”
Kisii County has in recent years prioritized infrastructure upgrades, healthcare expansions, and agricultural development to stimulate local economic growth.
Roads connecting major trading centers have been upgraded, health facilities equipped to provide enhanced services, and agricultural initiatives rolled out to support smallholder farmers.
Youth programs targeting skills development and employment creation have also been a central focus.
The governor’s tour will cover all constituencies and wards, with sector-specific sessions where leaders will present updates on ongoing projects.
Residents are encouraged to participate actively, providing feedback on project effectiveness and local priorities.
County officials indicated that the initiative is designed to strengthen transparency and ensure public participation in governance.
Arati’s office confirmed that the consultations will form part of the county’s broader planning process for the next financial year, with outcomes guiding new projects and interventions.
