A Kenyan woman has shared a painful story that has touched many people after she opened up about what she went through while desperately looking for a job.
Speaking on Wednesday during an interview with Tales Extra, Jane Wairimu revealed that life had become extremely difficult for her, forcing her to search for work anywhere she could find it.
Jane, who is a mother of three, explained that she reached a point where she could no longer provide basic needs such as food, rent, and school items for her children.
With no stable source of income and no support, she decided to look for a job at a construction site in Kileleshwa, hoping to earn money through honest work.
According to Jane, when she arrived at the construction site and asked for work, she was directed to the foreman in charge. She said the foreman shocked her by demanding that she must sleep with him before he could give her the job.
Jane added that she felt humiliated and confused, but the pressure of hunger and responsibility pushed her into agreeing to his demand.
She revealed that after doing what the foreman wanted, she was allowed to start working at the site. Jane said she worked hard for three days, believing that her suffering was finally over and that she would be able to support her children for a long time.
However, her hopes were quickly destroyed when the foreman suddenly told her not to report to work the next day. He did not give her any reason and simply chased her away. Jane said she felt used and deeply hurt, as she had lost her dignity and still ended up unemployed.
She added that after being fired, problems increased in her life because she had no income and no one to report the abuse to. Fear and shame made her remain silent. WATCH VIDEO HERE
