A sad and disturbing incident has left many Kenyans shocked after a video emerged on social media on Friday showing a white woman being assaulted by a group of matatu drivers in Nairobi’s Central Business District (CBD).
According to information shared online, the drivers accused the woman of breaking the windscreen of one of their vehicles, although this claim has not been officially confirmed by authorities.
In the video, the woman is seen surrounded by about eight men believed to be matatu drivers. She appears scared and confused as she repeatedly begs them to let her go. Despite her pleas, the men continue harassing her and blocking her from leaving.
Some of them can be heard making inappropriate comments about her appearance while tightly holding her hands, making it difficult for her to escape.
What has angered many people is the reaction of those around the scene. Several residents and passersby are seen watching the incident without intervening.
As the woman screams for help in the busy CBD, no one steps in to protect her or stop the assault. This behavior has raised serious questions about public responsibility and humanity during emergencies.
At one point in the video, one of the men is heard suggesting that they take the woman into an empty business building so they can insult or punish her away from public view. This statement has caused fear and outrage online, with many people saying the situation could have turned much worse.
After the video spread online, many Kenyans strongly condemned the incident. Social media users are now calling on the government, police, and other authorities to urgently investigate the matter and take bold action against all those involved.
