Popular Kikuyu musician Wangari Wa Kabera has been arrested by police after a water tank reported stolen was allegedly found at her home, an incident that has surprised many of her fans.
The arrest triggered heated discussion on social media, with members of the public expressing shock that a well-known public figure could be linked to such a case. Others called for calm, urging people to wait for investigations to be completed.
According to police reports, the artist was carrying out construction work at her residence in Kaindege area when a large water tank went missing from a nearby institution.
The disappearance was reported to authorities after residents and the institution’s management raised concerns.
Following investigations, officers discovered that the missing water tank had reportedly been left at the gate of Wangari Wa Kabera’s home. This discovery prompted police to widen their probe to establish how the tank ended up at the artist’s residence.
Police later arrested one suspect in connection with the theft. During questioning, the suspect allegedly claimed that he had been instructed to steal the water tank and deliver it to Wangari Wa Kabera’s home.
Based on this information, officers arrested the artist for further questioning as investigations continued. She was taken into custody before later being released on a cash bail of KSh 50,000.
Police have confirmed that investigations are still ongoing and that Wangari Wa Kabera will be required to appear in court when the case is mentioned on the 26th.
The incident has left many of her supporters disappointed, while others have urged the public to allow the legal process to take its course as authorities work to establish the truth behind the matter.
